Mentoring Matters:
The Impact of Well Executed
Corporate Mentoring Programs

with Tyra Whittaker of Butler, Snow, O'Mara, Stevens & Cannada, PLLC

Tyra Whittaker, a St. Louis, MO native who recently received her MBA from Anderson University, relocated to Mississippi last December to join Butler Snow as a Human Resources Manager. Prior to joining the firm, Tyra was an Assistant Director at the NCAA National Office in Indianapolis, Indiana where she was responsible for all internal Learning and Development initiatives as well as  Performance Management. While at the NCAA, Ms. Whittaker spearheaded the implementation of the Everything Disc Workplace behavioral assessment which led to improved communication and collaboration across all departments within the organization. She also developed and facilitated numerous internal and external training initiatives and oversaw the NCAA’s internal mentoring program.

In her current role at Butler Snow, Tyra is responsible for a number of Human Resources functions ranging from project management to recruiting. She is also responsible for overseeing the development of soft skill training for Butler Snow’s in house university, Butler Snow Institute.  As a member of SHRM and ASTD, Tyra is extremely passionate about Human Resources and the impact that L & D programs can have on an organization.
