“Talent Development & Talent Management:
What Are They, and Why Do They Matter
to Learning & Development Professionals?”

with Janea S. McDonald

This session will discuss the key components of these two concepts, the "do's & don'ts" that go along with them, and the skills and knowledge areas needed by leaders to effectively use these concepts in organizations.

Ms. McDonald is owner of Edge Consulting, LLC, a human capital consulting firm. She is a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR) through the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and is a certified training professional through the Jack and Patti Phillips Workplace Learning and Performance Institute at The University of Southern Mississippi. She has extensive HR experience in both nonprofit and for-profit settings. She received her undergraduate degree from The University of South Alabama, and her master's degree from The University of Southern Mississippi, where she currently pursues a doctoral degree in Human Capital Development. She is an adjunct instructor for William Carey University.

Directions to the Woodall Center:

Turn off of HWY 49 at the Forrest County Multi-Purpose Center. That is Sullivan Drive, but there is no street sign. Follow the black wroght iron gate that encompasses the property of the Multi-Purpose Center. When the gate ends, take the first right and turn into the driveway of the Woodall Advanced Technology Center.
